How to Prepare for a Professional Headshot
A headshot session is short- usually 20 to 40 minutes- so preparation matters more than it does for a longer shoot. Here's what actually helps.
Wardrobe
Solid colours, a backup option
Solid colours photograph more cleanly than patterns, which can distract from the face. Bring a backup top if you're unsure, and avoid anything with a busy logo or text.
Grooming
Arrive with hair and light makeup or grooming done- we can touch up minor things but don't run a full styling service. If you're getting a haircut for the session, book it a few days ahead rather than the same morning.
What to bring
1–2 outfit options if your package includes a change, and a note on where the photo will be used (LinkedIn, company site, press) so we can adjust framing and expression direction accordingly.
